The Zagori Mountain Running 2026<\/b> trophies, inspired by this year\u2019s theme, \u201cBE WATER,\u201d<\/b> are an artistic expression of the philosophy behind this year\u2019s event.<\/div>
The sculpture draws its inspiration from the springs of Zagori and the uninterrupted flow of water as both a natural and symbolic force. Its organic curves capture the essence of fluidity, creating the impression of a form that is constantly evolving, as if caught in a perpetual state of renewal.<\/div>
Water is a symbol of life, memory, purity, and regeneration. Rather than depicting water literally, the sculpture conveys its energy, rhythm, and essence. Through its abstract form, it invites the viewer into a personal experience where the natural landscape is transformed into an inner journey, highlighting the timeless relationship between nature, matter, and human perception.
The trophies were designed and created by Rafaela Siskou<\/b>, a student of the Sculpture Workshop at the School of Fine Arts, University of Ioannina<\/b>, who transformed the concept of \u201cBE WATER\u201d<\/b> into a unique work of art.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the School of Fine Arts of the University of Ioannina<\/b>, and especially to Rafaela Siskou<\/strong>, for her creativity, artistic vision, and the outstanding collaboration that brought this year\u2019s concept to life.<\/div>
For us, these trophies are much more than awards. They are lasting works of art that will accompany each winner as a reminder of nature\u2019s strength, the value of perseverance, and the journey that led them to the finish line.<\/div>
