Zagori Mountain Running made its first appearance in 2011. Since then, it has started winning the hearts of many friends and runners. The race has become very popular, leaving the best impressions to the participants.

A big part of this is owed to the people behind ZMR, who every year try to do their best. In 2015 the ZMR received the Silver Award in the category “Tourism Awards 2015”, while in 2017 registrations outreached the 2.000, showing a significant number of athletes from 40 different countries, featuring the region of Zagori as one of the top athletic and tourism destinations

Our goal is the continuous improvement, an on-going effort to improve our services and provide a quality mountain race experience. Also, the feedback from the people is a key factor in the ZMR planning. Furthermore, the strong support of our partners and sponsors and the warm welcome of the local authorities and community have helped us significantly.

Today the ZMR is a well-established leading athletic event in the country.
