The organizing company “My Adventure” together with the ZMR – Organizing Team have started planning the biggest and most popular mountain running event in Greece for 2019. The challenge is great for one more year, as the expectations of the athletes and the visitors are exceptionally high.
Registrations, including the four (4) races of the “Zagori Mountain Running 2019”, open on Monday 25th of February at 20:00. Additional information on the procedure will also be available on the official website of the event: www.zagorirace.gr
The ZMR 2019 will take place on 19-21 of July, in the unique paths of Tymfi, the grandiose Vikos gorge, the traditional villages and stone bridges, which compose an integral part of the architecture heritage of the region.
The four (4) races, TeRA 80km, Marathon+ 44km, Half Marathon 21km, Entry Race 10km, which offer a variety of terrain difficulty and challenge, together with the kid’s race “Zagoraki” have established the Zagori Mountain Running, as the leading event in Greece, attracting every year more than 2.000 athletes and 12.000 visitors, who have the chance to meet one of the most beautiful places and live a wonderful experience.
In addition, it should be mentioned that the Τ.E.RA 80km and Marathon 44+km races have officially been evaluated by the International Train Running Association/ ITRA, and they meet all the criteria.
The number of Greek participants in the two major running events is set as following:
- TeRA 80km: 200 athletes
- Marathon+ 44km: 250 athletes
It is also important to highlight that the ZMR Organizing Committee, through a variety of actions and events, focuses on the protection of nature. Moreover, the maintenance of the 155km paths helps preserving the cultural value of the region, contributing at the same time to the development of ecotourism.
